2009 is here!  On January 26th, it is the Year of the OX for the Chinese calendar.  People born in the Year of the Ox (1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009) are patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others. They tend, however, to be eccentric, and bigoted, and they anger easily. They have fierce tempers and although they speak little, when they do they are quite eloquent. Ox people are mentally and physically alert. Generally easy-going, they can be remarkably stubborn, and they hate to fail or be opposed. They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat people.

Something else exciting will be happening in 2009: we will be releasing some new improved versions of Chenomx NMR Suite in 2009 so watch for more information in upcoming newsletters and mailings. Make sure your maintenance is up-to-date if you want to continue to receive these new versions.  Please contact us if you are not sure when your maintenance coverage ends and/or you want to renew.

Although there are more new publications using Chenomx NMR Suite on the way, there is a past one that we have yet to highlight. 

In the August 2007 edition of the Journal of Proteome Research, Weljie et al. used Chenomx NMR Suite in their study entitled An Inflammatory Arthritis-Associated Metabolite Biomarker Pattern Revealed by 1H NMR Spectroscopy.  An 1H NMR spectroscopy-based metabolomics approach was developed to establish a metabolic 'biomarker pattern' in a model of rheumatoid arthritis.  By using Chenomx's patented "Targeted Profiling" methodology, they were able to identify a highly significant subset of 18 spectral features that they termed a 'metabolic bioprofile'.  The diagnostic and prognostic implications of monitoring a spectrum of metabolic events simultaneously using serum samples is discussed with respect to the potential for individualized medicine.  To see the abstract and sign-in to read the paper click here.

When using Chenomx NMR Suite 5.1, you can only overlay spectra in the Chenomx NMR Suite format (.cnx). If the spectrum you would like to use is in a different, supported format, you need to import and save it in Processor before using it as an overlay.
