Message from the Editor
As the school year officially comes to an end, we begin the month of Tammuz with a sense of fulfillment about the 5772 academic year and an excitement towards the summer.
Many teachers, family members, students and alumni attended the 5772 Graduation Exercises of Bnei Akiva Schools held at Shaarei Shamayim on Monday night. The ceremony was a beautiful tribute to the graduates and their accomplishments over the course of their tenure at Bnei Akiva Schools. We wish the students " our newest alumni" much hatzlacha in their future academic endeavours. We will miss them in our schools and hope that they come to visit!
To quote from Mr. Samuel's speech at graduation; "Graduands, your formal time in our school is ending. You have successfully completed one "Mission Impossible" and your next assignment awaits. Accept it with an open heart because the whole world is ahead of you. And it is a world that needs you. It is a world in which change is the only constant - and the only way to survive and thrive in such a world is for us to hold fast to that which we have learned, that which we believe - and to welcome every ending as the beginning of something new!"
We also bid farewell to Rabbi Gemara and Rabbi Berman and say "Tamshichu L'hatzliach." We will miss them both.
Students - please don't forget to keep us informed about your summer adventures whether research positions, summer internships and volunteer opportunities. We love to showcase our students' accomplishments. Please send an email to yjakubovic@bneiakivaschools.org.
We wish our entire Bnei Akiva Schools community a safe and relaxing summer.
With best wishes,
Yael Jakubovic

5772 COMMENCEMENT EXCERSISES
Representing their class mates, Yaakov Green and Shaili Peres addressed the audience at the 5772 Graduation Exercises of Or Chaim and Ulpana on Monday night. Their speeches were inspiring and well delivered. Please find below excerpts from each of the valedictory addresses.

"We have been prepared [by Yeshivat Or Chaim] to be Bnei Torah, dedicated to serving Hashem with humility, observing His mitzvot, and committed to leading lives infused with Torah values. And at the same time, we have been prepared to be proud Jews, confident in our abilities and proud of our identity, heritage, faith and ideology. For all this, the class of 2012 has hakarat hatov - gratitude. Because, Or Chaim has given us the tools needed to excel in our Torah, academic and professional lives; Or Chaim has given us a strong connection with Medinat Yisrael; and Or Chaim has given us the potential to go out into the world and make a positive impact." - Yaakov Green

"Today, we might be at a crossroads, and I look out at the twenty-three different possible paths that will be followed. My speech would not be complete without expressing my honour and gratitude at being able to be a part of this wonderful class. In the past years we have become closer than friends, we have become sisters. Each and every one of you is special in your own way, and although I could go on for much longer about the amazing group of people that I am graduating with... Mr. Samuels has warned me he will take the mike away if I do so. Tonight we graduate from Ulpana and begin our new journey; however, Ulpana has given us an incredible foundation of Torah, knowledge, and Middot. There is no doubt in my mind that this is more than enough to allow each and every one of us to make the right decisions and follow the correct path. Four years ago, we were not ready to make this journey; but today we are more than capable to."
- Shaili Peres
