NEW HOPE MAHOTAS ADVENTIST SCHOOL UPDATE
 

While our school year here has just begun, the 2011 school year in Mozambique is drawing to a close. Attendance is currently at 125 students, including preschool. The school relies heavily on sponsorship as tuition is out-of-reach for most families in the impoverished community where the school is located. Just $20 per month  educates a child in our school and provides them with a meal each day -  this is often the only meal they will receive.

HAITI MISSION TRIP DATES ANNOUNCED

S.O.S. is planning two mission trips to Haiti within the next few months:

 

1) October 5-11, 2011 and

2) January 11-17, 2012

 

 The areas of focus are medical and construction (repairs, painting, electrical, etc.) If there is enough interest, we would also like to have a VBS program and an agricultural/gardening project. We also are always looking for people who just want to spend time with and play with our 37 kids there at the orphanage.

SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

 

This Saturday, Sept. 3, is the deadline for donations of school supplies for the children of the Eden Garden Orphanage and school in Haiti. In addition to basic school supplies, craft kits and backpacks are also being requested.

 

Please drop your donations in the lobby by the E.G.O. banner and take a look at the faces of the children that you are helping! Thank you!

Enough sandals/crocs were collected for every child at the Eden Garden Orphanage in Haiti, thanks to your generosity!
