S.o.S. HAITI: Update

After the January 2010 trip was cancelled due to the earthquake,  New Hope's S.o.S. Missions Ministry sent a small team to Haiti in March. This included a medical team (Dr. Ed Justino, and RNs Elizabeth Wooster and Pastor Ann Roda), evaluation team (Pastor Kumar Dixit, Glenn Gibb, Monty Jacobs) and 3 licensed water well drillers (Dave Wooster, his father Larry Wooster and his well drilling associate, Dan Easterday). Our well team partnered with "Hands Together" (an organization in Haiti) to help drill a new well which now provides clean, parasite-free drinking water to the kids at the Eden Garden Orphanage.

Since this well produced so much water, during our next trip to Haiti (May 6-12), this well will be piped out of the orphanage to share with the community of Montrouis. In May, we also plan to drill another water well for the nearby community of Cabaret which currently does not have access to clean drinking water. These water wells will have a tremendous impact on the overall health and well being of many people. Medical and dental clinics will be provided during the May trip as well.
