He who observes the wind [and waits for all conditions to be favorable] will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. -

                         Not There Yet

It's 2008 and I'm still not there. Where? I'm not in the place where I would like to be. I don't wake up in the morning feeling great about myself. I work for the paycheck and not for the passion. I'm not at my ideal weight -- wearing my ideal clothes. My past has seemingly halted the progress of my future. I can't shake this habitual sin in my life. There are things that I want, yet they appear to be unattainable. I don't know what God wants me to do. He says-- she says-- they all say-- And the list goes on and on and on--Where does it end?
Let me share this with you.  Most of my life has been a waiting game. I'd wait until every detail fell into place.  I'd wait until I achieved this or became better at that. I'd wait until the circumstances changed. Now I realize that while I was waiting, God was waiting on me. In the past, I have allowed my fears, weaknesses, the words & actions of others or lack of resources to literally block the vision. It was as if I had built a stone wall of all of these issues; not realizing what awaited me on the other side if I could just break through. My focus was so on my inabilities-what I hadn't done, couldn't do, and needed to do that my present strengths, talents and gifts were minimized. I wanted me to be just right. Yet, through it all I was determined not to give up or give in. There were times that I struggled because I genuinely desired to fulfill my purpose for God. Then, with the transition of the New Year, came a refreshing of my spirit.  God said to me, "Just give me what you have, where you are and allow Me to take care of the rest." In other words, "Do what you do, and then watch what I'll do." I decided to release myself (along with all my issues) completely to the Father. I had to do it because I kept coming against that same stone wall that only God could break through for me.  No, I'm still not there yet with all of the polished bells and whistles, but I believe that it is a new season and I now have the clarity to move into the next level.
For every woman, there are places that only you and God can go together. It is solely your journey. Sometimes we need each other to come along for the companionship but ultimately each woman must know when, where, how and how long. Don't allow Satan to distract you with people, places and things, some of which may come in the form of the issues I dealt with. The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. He wants to kill your spirit, steal your time, and destroy your vision.  What is stirring inside of you? Are there things that you keep coming back to?  What are you passionate about?  Where do you want to go and what do you want to do? Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. If you have Jesus as your Savior, then you have life, but it is up to you to live out the abundance. Take hold of the things that God has placed inside of you. Don't put it off and don't try and wait until everything is perfect. I assure you that when God is placed first in your equation for change, change will come and you will do what you do so much better.  We don't need to have it all together. God's remedy for that is Jesus. Come as you are, give Him what you have and He'll take it from there.
While in college I heard Les Brown, a well known motivational speaker, make this statement, "There are three kinds of people in this world. Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who just don't know what's happening." I've always known what was happening.  Now, I'm no longer on the sidelines watching things happen, and I'll continue to trust God to make all things happen in my life! It's a new season, so come on ladies-- let's walk in it!
