Note from the directorMadeleine

Family and friends of MMI.

January and February were two months of full ministry.  Our first project was in Kongodian Mali and the second project was in Nabradogo Burkina Faso.

We are thankful to all of you that are sending us, praying for us, and helping us in so many different ways at home and overseas.  We hope that as you read the stories you will see the Lord at work as He takes us into new territory.

Enjoy the reading,
Madeleine Allard

NEWS FROM PASTOR CHRISTOPHE DEMBELE - MALI AFRICA

Pastor DembeleBefore the arrival of the MMI team in January, Pastor Caleb Sagara's team had visited the village of Kongodian to introduce the Gospel through an evangelical activity, presented in the common place of the village.  On that specific night, the "Iman" closed the mosque to attend the evening of evangelization.  It is unheard of that an "Iman" closes a mosque to hear the Gospel.

Many intercessors prayed for this January project and much was accomplished: many saw the film "Jesus", we gained favour with the chief who gave a property to build a church, and over 500 patients heard the Good News.  At the end, the intercessors who diligently prayed for this project intercepted and killed a huge black snake at the door of their prayer room.  They interpreted this as a great victory!

The men from the DEC church in New Hampshire, worked hard under the strong sun to advance the construction of the Dorcas Center                 .Dorcas Center

Thank you to all partners that are sustaining us in the construction of the Dorcas Center.  This center will become HOPE for many children in the streets.

PATIENT COULD NOT GET INTO THE CLINIC BUT GOT INTO GOD'S FAMILY.
 Listening solar audio system

The gift of a solar audio system that allows people to hear the Bible in their own language was donated by a friend of MMI , for us to take to Africa.  While in Burkina Faso, the solar audio system was placed close to the crowd, waiting  at the clinic. People sat on the ground or benches, while waiting to enter the clinic or while waiting to receive their medicine -- and they listened to the reading of the new testament in moore language playing on the audio system.

At the end of one of the clinic days, a lady came to Pastor Ousmane and told him that she had waited the whole day, but had not been chosen to be seen by the doctor  However, she had listened to the stories coming from the audio system and asked Pastor Ousmane "How can I become a Christian?"   We are sure that evening that the Lord took care of both her spiritual and physical needs.

"It is the same with my Word",
I sent it out, and it always produces fruit,
It will accomplish all I want it to,
And it will prosper everywhere I sent it."  Isaiah 55:11 (NLT)

GOD'S PROVISION - FRESH WATER

On our first project in Burkina Faso, when we went to visit the village that had been chosen for our clinic, we decided to stay there -- because the drive both morning and night from the capital was about 1 and 1/2 hours.  A drive of this length is so costly, financially, in time, and especially in the energy of the team.
Our only problem in staying in the bush was that we had no access to filtered water.
In the meantime, we had heard that a couple from Canada was also working in the north and our village was in the north but we had no idea where either of us were located.  On Sunday, just before we were about to head out to the bush for the 11-day clinic, we met that couple - obviously by God's design.  When we asked them where they were working, they told us their new school was about 5 minutes away from where we would be. They asked if there was anything they could do to help the team
the well.  We told them that we had no filter system for water and that we needed a solution to provide water for the team for our stay in the bush.  Imagine our excitement when we learned that this couple had developed their property to the point that they had a covered drilled well, with a pump, with naturally filtered water.  They offered to bring us all the water we needed every morning and evening.
What an answer to prayer - God uses people to provide for his children.  Thank you so much, Roger and Chris for this wonderful gift of fresh drinking water for our team.
prayer over the land - Kungoba
LAND FOR ANOTHER NEW CHURCH - Kongodian

Many of you prayed with us for favour with the chief and that he would give a gift of land for a church.  Part way through the project, we were invited to his house near the clinic where he thanked us for the work MMI were doing in the clinic for his people and presented us with a piece of land for a new church.  What a miracle -- in a Moslem village by a Moslem chief and council.  As a group, the council members and the MMI team walked the short distance to the plot of land - a prime piece of property. There we thanked God and prayed blessings on the village and chief.  Afterwards, Madeleine went back to the chief to thank him for his gift and offered to share with him what would be taught in the church. He agreed and she was able to share the Gospel with him, using the Evange-cube.  A wonderful answer to prayer.

GIFT OF BETTER VISION

Getting his new glassesTo the projects, we take reading glasses that have been donated by friends of the mission.  They are new glasses, usually purchased in discount stores.

On our last project, we gave out these reading glasses.  The people receiving them were filled with joy when they put these glasses on and could see again to do their daily tasks.  Although the glasses are for reading, they kept them on, just to show everyone the gift they had received.

Thank you for blessings them!

ANSWER TO PRAYER - Thank you Intercessors

baby - Kungoba

On our first Saturday in the village of Kongodian, this little boy who we were treating for malaria, became gravely ill

Several of us prayed for him and arrangements were made for him to go to the hospital.  That evening, we e-mailed a group of intercessors in North America, imploring them to pray fervently for this baby.  We were so worried that he would not survive -- but we continued to pray for him all day Sunday.

On Monday morning, both of his parents accompanied him to our clinic -- for him to continue his malaria treatment.  He looked so well, we hardly recognized him.

Thank you intercessors - "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" James 5:16 (KJV)

WOUND CARE NURSES NEEDED

Wound care

Many people living in the bush don't have access to clinics that will give them care for their wounds and consequently they have very serious and chronic wounds.

If you are a wound care nurse, would you consider joining us and help provide care to the many who are coming to our projects.  You would definitively change their life and bring them hope for healing.

We always need specialized dressings.  If you or your hospital have access to these dressings, please let us know -- we will take them with us to Africa.

Thanks!

MIRACLE BIRTH Baby Madeleine

In January 2010, during our clinic in Manakoroni Mali, Africa, a young couple came to consult because they had had 4 pregnancies and none of the babies had survived.  The young couple were hopeless and we prayed for them.  This year we were holding our clinic in a village nearby and the parents brought their miracle baby to show us.  All of us rejoiced to see the miracle and the love these parents had for this baby girl.

VISITING THE CHURCH IN MANAKORONI

Manakoroni New Church

In January 2010, we went to Manakoroni to do a medical clinic.  At that time, there was only a handful of Christians.  A property was offered to us right next to the sacrificial tree that the animist is still using.

This year, friends of MMI helped built a church and now it has 59 members and numerous children.

The building of the church was a testimony of their faith in God.  We were told that the gift of the property right next to the sacrificial tree was a mockery.  No one believed that the Christians would accept it and build a church on it.

In January 2011, we returned to Manakoroni to attend a church service and we heard the different chorals singing praises to the Lord.  Some of the patients came to attest of their healing and we had a wonderful time of celebration.
