WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

Madeleine in PeruWatching the nightly news, one wonders if there is any good happening in the world. While many eyes are on the crashing economy, price of fuel and food, many others are seeing the world through Jesus' eyes.

For some God news, read below about what's happening with Pastor Christophe Dembele, the MMI co-ordinator in Mali.

The Lord is actively working through His humble servants to bring many people to His Kingdom. Many patients are in tears as they hear the Gospel and pray that the Lord will forgive them and help them in their difficult circumstances.

God is using your life to change the destiny of millions through your prayers and partnership. The harvest is happening and MMIers everywhere are part of it.

A hundred years from now, we will be glad that we have put His Kingdom first.

See you on the mission field,

Madeleine Allard

A TREE OF LOVE HAS BEEN PLANTEDPastor Dembele

(Submitted by Pastor Christophe Dembele - MMI co-ordinator - Mali, Africa)

Thank you to  the MMI family for choosing to work in Mali! We have good news for those who have supported our ministry either by coming, sending, praying or giving toward the construction of the Dorcas Center.

Since MMI's first outreach in 2004, we have shared the Gospel with more than 5000 people. Before we began working with MMI, we had struggled to share the Gospel openly in a Muslim village named Moussala. The Muslim community in Moussala appreciated MMI's medical care, and to show their thanks they allowed us to present the Gospel publicly for the first time. Four years later, we now have a thriving church in this once Muslim-dominate community!

In 2005, MMI held an outreach in Senou. During the outreach the mayor gave us a hectar of land to help the destitute children in this town. We accepted this challenge from God! The Lord gave us favor with the government and in 2006 we started building the Dorcas Center that will accomodate 120 kids (Dorcas Center in Construction)

I want to thank the teams that have helped us, and report that the local community has embraced this building project and are working to make it a reality. As a united community, we are working together to drive this construction forward. We remain committed to building a place where children will hear the Word of God and be equipped for a brighter future.

Since that first outreach in 2004, we have hosted 8 MMI teams and are looking forward with excitement to the 5 outreaches scheduled for fall 2008 and winter 2009. Wherever MMI goes, the community is left with a  stronger church ready to serve God. Months and years later, the churches are still strong. Only God knows the full impact of your participation, but we have witnessed the fruit of your labor!

As you pray for us, we too are praying for all of you and that the TREE OF LOVE that you planted with your partnership may grow toward many other Malian communities.

Thank you for your ministry with Medical Mission International!  Together we are marching in areas of darkness where physical, emotional and spiritual suffering is so evident. We thank you for the sacrifices you make when you come with us on these outreaches.  Your service is a sacrifice of love to the Lord.  Peter said "Yes, Lord; You know that I love you." the Lord responded to him, then "Feed My lambs"  John 21:15.

Thank you for "feeding the lambs"
