Happy New Year!

New year, new beginning and new challenges!
This is exciting, specially when we remember that in any circumstances the Lord is with us.

We thank you for your trust, your continued support and your participation.  We know that the Lord will abundantly bless each one of us as we come together this year to share with others the blessings of the Lord.

See you soon on the mission field.

 MALI-  NEW USED VAN
Due to the high cost of transportation in Mali, last November we made a commitment to purchase a van for the ministry in Mali.  The cost of the van was $5555 USD.  We thank all the friends of MMI that generously gave to make this purchase possible.

DORCAS EDUCATIONAL CENTER  - MALI
MMI is committed to help the construction of a centre to rescue abandonned children in Mali.   The property is now fenced and in January Durham Evangelical Church from  NH is starting the construction of a dorm that will house 120 of these children.

Blocks on site for the construction of the dorm in January and February

100% of the money received goes for the construction of the Dorcas Educational Center

Our last outreach for 2007 was in Mali.  Many came to the Lord and many had very sad stories.  On this picture, a young boy came to the clinic with a servere infection on his leg.  A few months earlier he had felt a sting on his leg, while working in the field.  The little lesion got infected and spread rapidly on his calf and ankle.  Seeing the gravity of the infection, his father borrowed money and brought him to a clinic for treatment.  The young boy spent 3 months at the clinic, with no significant improvement in his condition.  His father came in the middle of the night to help his son escape from the clinic, because the administration at the clinic kept asking for more money that they didn't have.  When they arrived at the MMI clinic, we spent more than 2 hours cleaning the wound.  The wound was extremely dirty.  The boy endured the treatment without complaining and dad kept on looking with a smile.  He mentionned that no one had giving his son the treatment he has received that day.  We told him that his son would heal and to always remember that the "God of the Christians" is the Great Healer and He is the One who brought his son to the clinic.  They were so touched that the father and son received the Lord and put their faith in Him who is a great Healer and a God of Love.

Pastor Benjamin has finished the construction of the expansion of his home.  He is thrilled to have been blessed with the team's help.  Thanks guys!

He also reports that the church has many more members and that the discipleship bears many fruits.  The young people in the church are highly motivated now to learn english and they recently took a mission trip inland to share the Gospel.  They now have the vision and the medical outreach was an inspiration to them.

Peru- Jicamarca
Pastor Magda is no longer pastoring in Jicamarca.  The position has been given to Saturdina.  Luz and Saturdina have purchased the material to finish the roof of the church building that was built last August.  Luz has the confidence that the job will get done with Saturdina.

Thank you for the hard work you all put in to see this pre-fabricated church erected.  And thank you to Loy's church who gave the money to buy the material to finish the roofing.

Ministry story (by Rebecca Zerwick - Physician Assistant - SC, USA)

I am always amazed at how the Lord places specific patients in our path that need our knowledge or experience.

Weeks prior to our arrival, a mother was given a ticket to attend our clinic. At the time she did not know how much her infant child would need this medical visit.

The day of her medical visit at the clinic, the mother's child became very ill. When the infant came to the clinic I quickly realized he needed emergency surgery. The Lord used me to diagnose a life-threatening situation and gave me the wisdom to send the child to the local hospital.

A few days later the mother and baby came back to show me that his life was saved.  I was so relieved to see them both and their visit came at a time when I needed encouragment.

I will forever remember this baby and his mother.
