Readings Along the Rapidan

This month, I want to alert you to a publication of the Orange County Department of Tourism that was released just last month. It was written by Phil Audibert, and it's titled All Four Years.

Phil (the last name is "oh-de-bear") is a man of many, many talents. You can read a brief bio of him at www.tourguideltd.com.  Among other things, he is a photojournalist, an historian and a spectacular tour guide.

In All Four Years Phil combines a brief (18 page) overview of Orange County's four years of Civil War history with a driving tour to some of the county's most significant Civil War venues. We're talking about the county in which General Lee and his Confederate army stayed from August 1863 to May 1864, the county in which the Battle of the Wilderness started, the county with the receiving hospital that took in 23,000 sick and wounded in one year.

Not only is All Four Years a great read, you can't bear the price-FREE.  Contact the Holladay House and the innkeepers would be happy to send you your FREE copy.  And then come see us!
