Greetings!

We need your Kokua to produce this years Farm Fair! The fair is just around the corner & 25,000 visitors expect to see agriculture in action. There are many exciting ways for you to help promote agriculture this year. Were seeking sponsorships & volunteers. Remember your in-kind donations are considered sponsorships, see below for details on the exciting ways you can help promote Hawaii Agriculture! Please  feel free to forward this letter.

I look forward to working with you and seeing you at our new "cooler" location in the Agriculture Pavilion at the Old Kona Airport. See you at the fair!

Did you know that in 2006 that a farmer or rancher only received .19 cents out of every dollar the consumer spent on food, that's down from the 1980 figure of .31 cents! Wow, wrong direction. Don't miss the Hawaii agriculture reports  included below, Hawaii Farm Facts & the latest Crop report.  Check out the High Energy Grant Program that was just released by USDA.  Don't forget there is a meeting in Hilo on August 18th for the Statewide Transportation plan an issue that is very important to agriculture producers. Check out the Ag News section for additional information.

Sincerely,
Lorie Farrell
