 Temporary Permits for California?

California Assembly Bill 1401 proposes a same-day, one-time permit for child actors. Tell us what you think.

Under this proposed California legislation parents/guardians would be able to apply online for their child performer's first permit for a fee (estimated at up to $50), or they may apply for a permit by mail, using the traditional method.  This online application is for a one-time permit that will be granted to new applicants only. The permit that is being offered is only valid for 10 days to allow the applicant time to submit the required documentation, including establishing a Coogan bank account. All permit renewals would be processed through the mail only and would continue to be free.
