CIF Member Dharbi Jens Now Hosts Actors Reporter!Success Study:
Enhanced Member Dharbi Jens, age 11
Dhabi Jens is originally from Florida where, among other accomplishments, she was one of four children asked to be in the Northwest Florida Performing Arts Center production of Beauty and the Beast. Dharbi became an Enhanced Member of ChildrenInFilm.com in 2009 and soon after, she and her mother decided to travel for a temporary stay in California where she would give it a shot in Hollywood.
"CIF has so much to offer all of those out of state who are new to the industry (and those in LA)," commented Dharbi's mother Kristi Jens. "With no connections in the entertainment biz, nor family in LA, we had to research exactly what we needed to do to get to LA. We were very fortunate to find CIF. What we found the most helpful were the webinars as it is extremely important to get information from industry people, and the webinars provide real-time information."
Since she arrived in Los Angeles, Dharbi has had many successes within her career including winning the CIF photo contest, but perhaps she is most proud of her time with the Actors Reporter where she hosts an online show dedicated to reviewing films and has the opportunity to work on her voiceover skills. Dharbi first expressed an interest in doing such reviews when she attended an advanced screening of a film, one of the many FREE events offered to Enhanced Members of CIF.
"We are now anxiously waiting on a call back for KidzBop," said Kristi. "Because of a casting notice posted on ChildrenInFilm.com, we were able to submit directly to the casting director and Dharbi was given an audition. Thank you CIF!"
