CIF Teamed Up with Looking Ahead to Bring Teens the Opportunity to Learn Public Speaking and Leadership Skills
Toastmasters International's Youth Leadership Program
Designed to help young people develop their public speaking and leadership skills, the Youth Leadership Program is currently being conducted by Children In Film and Looking Ahead and sponsored by Toastmasters Club 21.
On Tuesday, July 13th, 19 teens (all of whom are members of Looking Ahead and/or ChildrenInFilm.com) gathered for the first two sessions of the YLP. During this time they gave their first impromptu speeches and elected officers who will preside over the next six sessions.
Parliamentary Procedure at its Best!
The teen leaders quickly and efficiently elected a President, Vice President, Secretary and Seargant of Arms. The newly elected president later lead the group to come up with a common topic on which all future speeches, including the final banquet speeches, will be based.
