Congratulations to the CIF Members who attended the first ever, Ready...Set...Meet!
™ event held at The Oakwood Toluca Hills this past weekend! The event was a huge success and we're already gearing up for the next one.
On Saturday, February 21st, Enhanced Members of Children In Film had the incredible opportunity to meet with five different industry professionals for a chance to show off their talents. Not only did everyone report having a fun time at this two-hour event, but the feedback from the industry professionals was also excellent.
"We had a wonderful time meeting a top group of young
professionals who were prepared and anxious to be stars," commented casting director, Fern Champion.
We are excited to announce that Fern and Paul from Champion Casting selected Makaela Johnson and Shanna Grove for an upcoming untitled project!
We are reviewing the feedback provided by both the parents as well as the industry professionals in order to plan an even better Ready...Set...Meet!™ Speed Casting for Kids
event for April. For example, while some parents have suggested that we extend the amount of time each child spends with the industry professionals, please rest assured that all of the industry professionals reported that they had more than enough time with each child. They felt they got to know the children during the meet and greet and knew right away which children they wanted to consider for future opportunities.
Parents also enjoyed the time they spent in the CIF Expo reporting that Dan O'Callaghan and the rest of the CIF staff provided an environment that eased the kids' nerves and got them excited for their meetings with the agents, managers and casting directors.
Parents commented that this was a great event with a "good venue, an intimate and comfortable setting and a non-threatening environment." Kim Grove, mother of Shanna Grove, reported that their family is "extremely lucky to have access to such pertinent information." Chelsea Haskett's mother Kristen even said, "Thank you for this opportunity; it made our trip to LA so worth it!"
