 Rules and Laws

Did you know that in the state of California, Studio Teachers are required even during the summer?  In New York, child-model work permits are different than child performer permits.  Did you know that New Mexico recently held a hearing to propose changes to their child labor laws?

Children In Film, Inc. makes it a priority to be on top of laws regarding the employment of minors in entertainment, nationwide.  In fact, it is our mission to empower you with the information you need to successfully and positively employ children in entertainment.

We can confidently claim that we are the premier resource for essential entertainment labor law information, brought to you in a concise and easy-to-access manner.

In a recent L.A. Business Journal article on Children In Film, Manager Steven Nash of Arts & Letters explained that before there was ChildrenInFilm.com, he had to call the labor board of a particular state where a film or television show was being shot and get the most up-to-date labor information, a tedious process to say the least.

"Now, I just point and click," Nash said.

Bragging rights for Children In Film? Sure.  But for parents and industry professionals this means access to the most up-to-date laws for their state and any state in which the child may work.  Each of your are equipped with the ability to protect not only the child's rights, but production liability as well when it comes to working on set, receiving education, and being paid in accordance with the law.

The more you use our site to locate entertainment labor law information in any state, the more informed you become.  In addition, the site will maintain this premier status because our members can provide feedback and ask questions.
