What's New at Radio Lumière
- First weekend I was here they had the final celebration for the summer quiz shows. It was a run off between two church youth groups with lots of drama, prizes and a big trophy. All televised as well as live on the radio. I was the unofficial/official photographer for the occasion. Took over a hundred pictures. I'll share some of them later when I get back home.
- The German work team under Helmut Menzel has come and gone. As always they did a great job. Our main studio and control room have been transformed with new windows and sound absorbers. Ted Miller from HCJB is here now installing new computers and software for Rudoll our production and music recording artist. (I'll show you some pictures of that too later.)
- I spent two days at Stereo 92 the good listening music station up in Petionville straightening out problems with music storage and backup drives. The automation system is running well. Didn't get time to try streaming the Stereo 92 signal so that will have to wait until the next trip.
- Worked putting some of the finishing touches on the payroll package, and chasing after the bugs still in the programming. Have an appointment in the morning with the ladies in accounting to show them how to start using it.
And on the horizon
- The work team from Covington, KY. arrives Saturday at 2:24 p.m.! At that point everything else stops and I become team leader. We will be building on a house for Vena and her family. She's one of the workers here at the station. We hope to finish the walls and get the roof on.
- Pray for us! It's still hot down here. So the sun will be a big issue. Pray for a great team effort and good fellowship as we work together. This is the first time in Haiti for most if not all the team members.
In a nutshell that's what's happening. I'll tell you more after I get home the 13th. God bless and thanks for your prayers. |
