WE CARE . . . .
| The 2011 Campaign is up and running. Currently, we are just over 45% of our goal of $1,700,000.
Old Point National Bank and Ball Metal both came in with 100% employee participation and both raised more than last year.
WJCC Schools have completed their campaigns with more participation than in 2010.
City of Williamsburg has wrapped up their campaign and with all their fun activities to raise money, they came in over their goal.
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center met their goal first among Sentara's hospitals and also exceeded it.
Williamsburg Regional Library increased their employee participation and raised nearly $1,000 more than last year.
There are more campaigns wrapping up and the results will continue to come in. We are thankful for these companies who stepped up to the challenge to raise a little more. If you have not contributed yet, it's not too late, visit our website at www.uwgw.org to give securely from our home page.
This time of year is most appropriate for us to say thank you to everyone who LIVES UNITED, helping to make our community a better place to live and work. The change we strive for doesn't happen without you.

Do You Know What To Do With A Pumpkin?
| Don't throw out those pumpkins after Thanksgiving - pumpkins can be used for so much more - for skin care as well as fun desserts!
Pumpkin Smoothie: Whip chilled pure pumpkin puree with milk, vanilla yogurt, a pinch of sugar and pumpkin pie spice.
Pumpkin Ice Cream: Combine 1 cup of pure pumpkin puree with 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, and blend well. Stir in 1 quart of vanilla ice cream (softened). Freeze before serving.
For glowing skin: Cut 1 slice of fresh, skinless pumpkin into small chunks. Puree in the blender until smooth. Fold in 1 egg yolk and 2/3 cup of milk. Apply the mixture onto cleansed face and neck, leave on for 30 minutes, then wash with water.
Pumpkin is very beneficial to the skin and it is one of the most powerful ingredients used in skin-care products. It contains natural fruit acids, Vitamins A, C, E. and minerals to exfoliate, refine and stimulate circulation for a glowing and healthy complexion.
