Canine Noise Phobia Series

Lisa Spector, Victoria Stilwell, Joshua LeedsAdding to our resources that we use with our Boarding and Day Care dogs, is another series of CD's, specifically designed to reduce noise phobias in dogs.  We had the pleasure of meeting Lisa Specter (left), and Joshua Leeds (right) at the recent APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) Conference in San Diego. Lisa and Joshua created the "Through a Dogs Ear" series of calming/relaxation CD's for dogs, that has been so successful. (We use those, too.)

They joined up in a cooperative venture with Victoria Stilwell to create this series of CD's for:

  • Thunderstorms
  • Fireworks
  • City Sounds
  • Calming

CNP (Canine Noise Phobia) is a desensitization training tool that combines three distinctive elements for the treatment and prevention of sound sensitivities:

  • progressive sound effects (distant/close)
  • specially-designed psychoacoustic music (TaDE)
  • reward-based reinforcement protocols (Victoria Stilwell)

Be sure to keep your pet safe during Halloween activities. (For pets that are stressed during such times, you might consider trying Calming Tea (above), before hand.) Keep an eye on them to prevent unwanted food intake, and escaping during "Trick or Treat" time.

Sincerely,

Martha Fischbach, CTTP, CPG
