Grooming Tip - Snow Packed Paws?

If your dog has paws that collect snow easily, try trimming the hairs between the pads really short, with a short, snub nose scissors (to prevent injury). Usually, it is the hair that the snow clings to, and packs up on, so by trimming off the hair, there is not much for the snow to grab on to, and build up. You can also trim the hairs between the toes, on the top side of the paw, for the same reason and result.

We have these scissors available at our shop, if you need some.

New Toys Are Arriving  Crinkle, Double sided squeaky toysJust in time for the Holidays, we have lots of new toys arriving.  Feel free to bring your dog in to check them out.

This is a new "Crinkle" squeaky toy, that is double sided.  This one has a mouse on one side and an elephant on the other.  There are numerous other critters in this line.  They definitely have a crinkle sound to them, when handled.

Free Health Information for Pets and People-Be Your Pet's Advocate

I would highly recommend you subscribe to Dr. Mercola's free health newsletter, and the Healthy Pets newsletter he sponsors, with Dr. Karen Becker, DVM.  It will give you another avenue of information, to assist you in making decisions about your own and your pet's health.
Dr. Mercola is a physician/surgeon, who advocates for health for humans, and encourages everyone to become educated on the complete picture relative to their health. To that end, he provides information that is often not commonly known about drugs, procedures, products, methods and more, and promotes health and healing from a natural perspective, when possible.

He has access to experts worldwide, and presents information from them that can give you a whole "other perspective" on various topics.  I particularly appreciate that he not only gives his views and arguments, but also includes links to his source information (videos, testimony, articles, etc.) so you can listen to and/or read the information for yourself, and draw your own conclusions.

In a recent Healthy Pet newsletter, issues like the benefits of medical massage, and dog food nutrition guidelines/requirements are discussed. He also includes many heartwarming stories, and photos of breathtaking, inspiring places throughout the world.

Should you believe everything you read?  Certainly not. That's why it is so refreshing to find a place to go to, to do more of your research, where you can gain another perspective or two AND a doorway to even more avenues of information.

Don't take my word for it...check it out for yourself. If you don't want to subscribe to another newsletter, bookmark it so you can go to it for reference information when you need it. Then you can check out the issue (for you or your pet) and see if there are any other sources or experts that concur. And you can then be able to discuss the subject with your doctor or veterinarian, and ask knowledgeable questions, to be your own and your pet's best advocate. The website is www.mercola.com.

Safety for Your Dog at Night

Puplights   We have been getting a lot of requests for a good light for people's dogs to wear at night/in the dark.

This is our favorite light ever.  See why we love Puplights!

Client Comment Corner-TTouch

At a recent TTouch workshop I taught in Seattle, participants had a chance to see a variety of TTouch techniques and their effect on their dogs. Most found that even after just a few minutes, there were noticeable, positive changes in their dogs.

We had this comment from one of the participants:  "Thank you for your insightful, compassionate presentation on TTouch for dogs.  As a professional dog trainer, I so appreciate the gifts you shared with us at Positive Dog Training.  Please come back soon!"  ..........................Miriam Rose, CNWI, CPDT-KA

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!  Thanks for your support!
Sincerely,
