Greetings!

We have had a revision to our upcoming training, and will have shorter hours this week.  Keen dog food is on sale and an "at home" training suggestion is included, as is a foot care idea.

Revised Out-of-Town Schedule, Shop Closed Jan. 13-18, 2010
Our travel plans have been revised for our upcoming training.  We will be at training, January 13-18, 2010. We will be open normal hours on January 12, Tuesday, from 1:00pm to 9:00pm.  Arrangements can be made for after hours pickup by calling us at 907-790-DOGS (3647), by 9:00pm on January 12.
In addition, this will be a "skip week" for Obedience Classes, with no class on January 15.  Classes resume the following Friday, January 22, at the regular times.
Cavaletti - A Training Tool
Training with cavaletti   Cavaletti are a simple training tool, for helping your dog learn focus, mindfulness, balance and integrated
body movement.  We use it in TTouch work as part of the "Confidence Course".  At home, you can use simple poles, PVC, or something easy for your dog to step over, and can include varying heights.  There should be secure footing to walk upon.
Canine Winter Foot Care
During the winter, especially if there is a lot of ice with jagged edges along the sidewalk or trail, be sure to do a "paw check" after taking your dog for a walk.  Inspect each paw for cuts, abrasions or substances that have stuck in the webbing.  Keeping the hair short around the pads can help keep snow balls from building up.
We hope everyone had wonderful Holidays, that were safe and bountiful.  May this be an abundant year for all.
Sincerely,

Martha Fischbach
