The Sitka Chamber of Commerce Luncheon will be at noon on Wednesday, August 8th. Please join us for a presentation by Steve Reifenstuhl, the general manager of Northern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (NSRAA), on the importance of fisheries to our community
Reifenstuhl has been with NSRAA for 32 years. He is also the Executive Director for the Herring Conservation Alliance, works with Patagonia Inc. on product development, holds a seat on the SEDA Board of Directors, is on the State Cruise Ship Science Panel, and is on the United Fishermen of Alaska Board of Directors. Reifenstuhl attended the University of West Virginia, graduate and undergraduate school in wildlife biology. He was born in Washington D.C., grew up in small town New York, and moved to Sitka after college, where he says he was meant to be born and plans to stay. Reifenstuhl spends his free time outdoors mountain climbing, ocean kayaking, hunting, etc.
Chef Randy will be serving Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf with Demi Glace, Mashed Potatoes, Vegetables, Soup and Salad.
The Sitka Chamber of Commerce luncheons are held on Wednesdays at Noon at the Westmark Sitka. They are always open to the public. For more information, call the Chamber office at 747-8604.

2012 Sitka Artisans Market Vendors Invited
Commercial booth space is now available for the 12th annual Sitka Artisans Market. Vendors selling high quality handcrafts, fine art and other Alaska-made products are invited to apply for space at the Artisans Market, which is expected to draw over 2,000 shoppers. The event will fill much of Sitka's Harrigan Centennial Hall and will run for three days, from Friday, November 9th through Sunday, November 11th. SAVE THE DATE 2012 Sitka Artisans Market November 9th, 10th & 11th The community-enhancing Sitka Artisans Market is a project of the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce. The Market provides a unique sales venue for Alaskan artists, fine crafters and manufacturers; one of a kind shopping experience for Sitkans; and an opportunity for local and regional retailers to discover new Alaskan products for their stores. The Artisans Market will begin on Friday evening with a gala, festive 'Grand Opening' event with hors d'oeuvres, wine, music, and special offerings by vendors. The Market will also be open all day on Saturday and Sunday, with delicious foods available both days. The application deadline for juried booth space is September 3, 2012. Space rental fees range from $175 to $300 per booth. Please contact the Sitka Chamber of Commerce for more information or to request a vendor application. |
