From The Director
I just completed my first week of the Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Thank you so much to Shee Atika Incorporated, Sitka Sound Seafoods and the Alaska Commercial Company for making it possible!
Since 1921, chambers of commerce, associations, and other nonprofits have used the U.S. Chamber's Institute program as a training platform for the professional development of their top talent. I recieved training in leadership, organization management competencies, as well as targeted curriculum in membership, technology, and financial management.
I was hoping to be home this past weekend, but due to a family emergency, I am still in California. Our office is closed, but you can still reach me by phone or email.
"The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together." - Erma Bombeck
