The Chamber of Commerce is planning the 4th Welcome to Sitka Day to welcome the passengers and crew of the first cruise ship of the 2012 season. This Thursday, May 3rd, the ms Zaandam will arrive at 7am and will lighter under the O'Connell bridge.
Citizens are encouraged to come down to Crescent Harbor Shelter to help welcome the passengers from the first cruise ship of the season! This is a great opportunity to show the Cruise Industry how happy we are that they have included Sitka on their voyage through Alaska. Our visitor industry is vital to Sitka's economy and this is one more way to raise awareness and show our support!

The summer season is upon us and our first ship full of visitors will be here on Thursday! I hope everyone will come and join me under the bridge as we welcome them! I will be there at 7:30am and sure hope to see you there!
