The Sitka Chamber of Commerce Luncheon will be at noon at the Westmark on Wednesday, February 29th. Our guest speaker will be Bob Medinger from the Sitka Historical Society with an update on the new museum for Sitka, and joining him will be Paul Voelckers with MRV Associates and Martha Schoenthal, a consultant hired by the Foraker Group. The Sitka Chamber of Commerce luncheons are held on Wednesdays at Noon at the Westmark Sitka. They are always open to the public. For more information, call the Chamber office at 747-8604. |

Nominations Open for Business of the Year and Cossack Cap Award
The Business of the Year Award was established to honor an outstanding business and to recognize its merit and contributions to the local Business community.
The Cossack Cap award was established to honor those who have distinguished themselves in unselfish and extraordinary public service to the citizens of Sitka.
Both awards will be presented at the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony on March 10th. Nominations are treated with strict confidentiality and both awards are intended to be a surprise!

 Legislative and Community Affairs Committee Meeting The Sitka Chamber of Commerce Legislative and Community Affairs Committee will be meeting on Wednesday, February 29th at 4pm at 329 Harbor Drive Suite 212. Chamber members are welcome to attend. Two items on the agenda for tomorrow will Sitka's City Tax Structure and Representative Peggy Wilson's Transportation Bill HB30. |

 Wearable Art Show & Runway Extravaganza The Greater Sitka Arts Council announces the 4th Annual Sitka Wearable Art Show & Runway Extravaganza. Two shows this year. March 2nd and 3rd at the Harrigan Centennial Building. The doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7pm. Tickets are available at Old Harbor Books, Feb 6th - get them in advance we sell out. Adults $15.00, kids under 12 $5.00. Artists in all media's and of all ages will present their wearable art creations. And what is wearable art? Well one thing for sure - it is not dull.
