November 17, 2010 - Rebecca Poulson & Joe D'Arienzo, Sitka Maritime Heritage Society board members, will discuss construction plans for restoring the Japonski Island Boathouse in 2011. The historic building, once upgraded, will be a working maritime museum, with boat haul out, boat building, and a hands-on museum of Sitka's maritime heritage and WWII history. Poulson and D'Arienzo will discuss the history of the project, including funding and architecture, and will share some Sitka maritime history trivia.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST

Registration is now open for the Artisans Market's first gingerbread house contest - open to everyone, kids to professionals.
AC/Lakeside Grocery is sponsoring this contest.
