WEEKLY LUNCHEONS

November 17, 2010 - Rebecca Poulson & Joe D'Arienzo, Sitka Maritime Heritage Society board members, will discuss construction plans for restoring the Japonski Island Boathouse in 2011. The historic building, once upgraded, will be a working maritime museum, with boat haul out, boat building, and a hands-on museum of Sitka's maritime heritage and WWII history. Poulson and D'Arienzo will discuss the history of the project, including funding and architecture, and will share some Sitka maritime history trivia. November 24, 2010 - No lunch. Advised by the board of directors, the executive director helps to fulfill the Chamber's mission of promoting, supporting, and facilitating commerce and economic growth in the community.

 Registration is now open for the Artisans Market's first gingerbread house contest - open to everyone, kids to professionals. AC/Lakeside Grocery is sponsoring this contest. Buy a kit or make it from scratch. Cash prizes for Youth, Adult & Professional categories. Entries must be ready by Thursday, December 2.Proceeds from silent auction bids on some of the creations will go to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
