October 27, 2010 - Peggy Wilson & Reber Stein - House District 2 candidate forum.
Rep. Wilson has held the District 2 House seat since 2001, serving on a number of committees, and currently chair of the Transportation committee. She has sponsored and co-sponsored a broad range of bills on issues from education to fisheries; many of which have been passed into law.

Reber Stein is the grandson of a pulp mill general manager and the son of an Alaska mayor. He was raised in Sitka and has been shaped by its families, businesses, industries and institutions. He has served on the Sitka Assembly and the Sitka Long Range Planning and Economic Development Commission.

OUTDOOR RECREATION ACTION PLAN
PUBLIC WORKSHOPS

The US Forest Service is supporting a collaborative effort with the greater Sitka community to create an Outdoor Recreation Action Plan for the Sitka Area. The plan is intended to guide and coordinate efforts by the USFS and other Sitka-based organizations, agencies and individuals to develop an integrated system of:
Facilities, Programs & Informational Services.

A selection of crowd pleasing opera and show tunes performed by the Juneau Lyric Opera's Kathleen and Dan Wayne, accompanied by pianist/composer/arranger Linda Dowdell, who recently moved to the Northwest from NYC.  (Linda was formerly the music director for Mikhail Baryshnikov's dance company, among other things).

Mim McConnell, at Shelter Cove Publishing, has done an upgrade to her website. Her company provides web design, graphic design, office services and stock photography.

Shelter Cove is the publisher of the Sitka Through Four Seasons booklet that comes out each spring. Mim is also the webmaster for the Sitka Chamber of Commerce website.
