ST. MICHAEL'S BELLS TO RING AGAIN

The bells of St. Michael's Cathedral will ring again.  On Thursday, September 23, at Noon, a concert will be played by visiting Father Stephan Meholick. Lincoln Street will be closed.

On Saturday, September 25, during the Season's End Celebration, tours will be given up to the newly refurbished bell tower. The $25 donation will help pay for the unexpected costs of the repairs to the tower and access to the bells. 5 or 6 people can go on each tour.
BOARD DIRECTOR ELECTIONS

October 6 is the date for elections for Board members. Nominations are now being accepted.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SPC
Congratulations to Seafood Producers Cooperative for winning the prestigious Governor's North Star Award for International Excellence, recognized for their quality products and outstanding marketing efforts. SPC has 520 member fishermen, provides hundreds of jobs and had sales last year of $50 million.

SPC is one of the major sponsors for our 3rd annual Season's End Celebration on September 25. Craig Shoemaker, SPC's Sitka Branch Manager, has been the primary organizer for the fish booth at the Celebration, which was very popular the first two years. Watch for grilled rockfish and coleslaw this year.

Several members of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce will be here in Sitka on Thursday, September 23. Chamber members are invited to join us for the following events, to meet the outgoing & incoming State Chamber Presidents, the executive director and  board members, and tell them about Sitka's businesses.
  • Breakfast, 8:30-9:30am, Westmark Hotel lounge. Conversations about Sitka's economy. Order from the menu.
  • Lunch, 12:00-1:30pm, Sea Mountain Restaurant. Learn about the Chamber's first Alaska Business Week from the folks who made it happen. Three delicious menu choices.
  • Reception, 4:30-6:00pm, Allen Marine Tour, Crescent Harbor. Wine & hors d'ouvres. Celebrate two local winners of the Statewide Business of the Year Award. Free for Chamber members and guests.

USCG OPEN HOUSE - OCTOBER 6
The men and women of U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Sitka and the Coast Guard Cutter Maple would like to learn more about what's available in our community.

RELOCATION ADVERTISING DEADLINE - 9/30
Each fall, we update the Chamber's Relocation Guide. The guide is mailed to dozens of people every year who are interested in moving to Sitka. It's also available on our website. If you'd like to advertise your business in this guide, the deadline is September 30.
