ALASKA BUSINESS WEEK
The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce has officially
launched the Alaska Business Week program. Modeled after the very successful, long running, Washington Business Week. It is open to 100 students, grades 9-12. This week-long intensive summer program is
being staged at the University
of Alaska Fairbanks
campus, August 8-14. Students from all over Alaska are encouraged to apply.
Business and organization leaders are being asked to participate in this worthwhile endeavor in a number of ways, including working as 'company advisors'. There are also opportunities to participate by taking part in the judges' panel on Friday morning of the program.

Census folks will begin going door to door on May 1. Sitka's participation rate is now 61%.The national rate is 72%. We've a ways to go to meet Sitka's goal of 80%.
