The new Sitka Through 4 Seasons booklet is out, with a whole new look. This book includes a downtown walking map and a complete road map, both marked with highlights for visitors. It's got the bus schedule, a restaurant listing, a calendar of annual events, and more. And it's FREE. Pick some up for your friends and family at Centennial Hall, the SCVB, the Chamber, the airport and many other spots.

ALASKA BUSINESS WEEK
Alaska Business Week
The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the Alaska Business Week program. Modeled after the very successful, long running, Washington Business Week. It is open to 100 students, grades 9-12. This week-long intensive summer program is being staged at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, August 8-14.  Students from all over Alaska are encouraged to apply.

Business and organization leaders are being asked to participate in this worthwhile endeavor in a number of ways, including working as 'company advisors'. There are also opportunities to participate by taking part in the judges' panel on Friday morning of the program.

There's still time to mail in your survey or phone in your data. You can pick up the form at the City building, on the table on the 2nd floor. Or call 1-866-6868.
Census folks will begin going door to door on May 1. Sitka's participation rate is now 61%.The national rate is 72%.
We've a ways to go to meet Sitka's goal of 80%.
