Business and organization leaders are being asked to participate in this worthwhile endeavor in a number of ways, including working as 'company advisors'. There are also opportunities to participate by taking part in the judges' panel on Friday morning of the program.

LOCAL BUSINESS NEWS
Josh and Ashia at Bayview

Sitka's latest dining venture is the recently refreshed Bayview Restaurant & Wine Bar. Located at 407 Lincoln Street, the business has been re-energized and revamped by two Sitkans, Chef Josh Peavey and General Manager Ashia Lane, with the support of owners, Chris & Tam Fondell.

The menu is designed by Josh, and features Vineyard-focused dinner cuisine, as well as home-style breakfast and lunch. Josh takes great efforts to make as much in-house as possible, including handmade pasta, sauces, dressings and desserts. The menu highlights fresh local seafood, and is easily paired with selections from the wine bar.

The dining and bar areas have a revived feeling, with a cohesive, serene design theme throughout. Ashia schedules musical acts most Wednesday and Saturday evenings in the wine bar, with a good rotation of local talent performing many different genres, including blues, jazz, and rock. The Wine Bar is also host to art shows, Sushi/Sake Tuesdays, and group meetings.Any group or club is welcome to meet in either wine bar or restaurant; Josh and Ashia are happy to accommodate with Truffle Trios, Meat & Cheese Boards, or anything else possible.
