October 2011 News
Friend
We were so happy to meet you at our first annual Mi Camera Mi Mundo Denver exhibition. It is my hope that you enjoyed your evening, left with a taste of our work and an interest for more information.
Recently, a talented volunteer by the name of Brad Allgood made a short video describing our work through the voice of one of our children who has been with us for 6 years. Please take two minutes out from your day and sit back and enjoy and more importantly do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!
Thanks so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Kathy Adams

Another World
What could be a new world for a little girl living in a dilapidated slum? For Anielka, it is one with no fears. One where she takes charge. One where she leads others to better lives. One she has built with Empowerment International.
In his beautiful video for Empowerment International (EI), Brad Allgood, shows how a girl who considered herself "timid" is now the president of EI's mountain biking club and the first member in her family to graduate high school. Anielka never expected herself to finish school, let alone dream of college. But she is well on her way.
In fact, not only is she building her own future but also helping many other children with theirs. She is a tutor in EI's after-school tutoring program where she helps her neighborhood children with their studies. And she also wins biking races as her pastime.
Like she says in the video, "We do not always have solutions ourselves." Anielka took EI's help and is now spreading the message. As you see her confidently teaching other children and speaking about her hopes, you realize that Anielka has found her new world - one where she is confident, expressive and without fear.
EI is proud to have a kid like her and we hope you as an EI supporter are proud of her too!.
