We're seeing an increasing trend of mothers involved and engaged in supporting their children's school work, and they're really proud of what their children have achieved so far. This is a real measure of the success of the EI program - only a few years ago it was difficult to convince the families that their kids attending school was worth the lost income from them not being able to work in the streets.
As a tribute, we've put together a slide show showing some of these women. You can view it here on our Mothers' Day Tribute page. And if you're looking for a way to honor your own mother or grandmother, how about making a small donation to our Mothers' Day page in her name? After doing so, please do leave a dedication to her in the comments. Make a difference to your mom by making a difference to another. Or alternatively, if you already sponsor a student in our program how about leaving a small donation in honor of their mother? We'll put the money towards continuing our home visits, which provide help and support to all the family in order to keep their kids in school.
In this photo, EI student Pedro is showing his mother how to add and subtract. She is lovingly supporting him.
