VP-200

See the VP-200
Greetings!
There are a lot of interesting things happening this month. Pricing has been finalized, information about the VP-100 is now posted on the web, and we've got our booth space at Airventure this year. Please read the articles below for complete details.

VP-100 Announced
Details on the web.

VP-100

Think of the VP-100 as the VP-200's little brother. It groups almost all of the switches and indicators into one unit in your instrument panel.  It replaces circuit breakers, indicators, voltage alarms, trim relays, voltage converters and a host of other products. And it adds numerous capabilities that would otherwise be difficult to design and wire yourself. Plus, it makes wiring a modern electrical system simpler than other traditional alternatives.

The VP-100 installs in your instrument panel and provides manual switching for the avionics, contactors, flap system, and trim system. It supports a single-battery, single or dual-alternator electrical configuration. The lighted liquid-crystal display shows overvoltage and under-voltage alerts, short-circuit and over-current alerts, flap & trim position, and endurance bus status.

A demo system will be at the Aerotronics booth at Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, FL from April 17 - 23, 2007.

If you can't make that, mark your calendar for Oshkosh, and visit us in the Vertical Power booth #2024 in Hangar B. In the meantime, you can take a product tour here:

Pricing Announced
Systems and wiring harnesses.

Control UnitPricing has now been finalized for the VP-100, VP-200, and VP-200 Duo systems. Because all of the systems share common technologies (for example, all systems use the same Control Unit, or "red box"), we've been able to keep the price points at a level that represent a good value for experimental aircraft builders.

What are some of the advantages of using Vertical Power?

Reduced pilot workload. The VP-200 handles routine tasks for you so you can focus on flying the airplane and keeping your head outside the cockpit.

Advanced features. Without complex wiring or additional modules, you can incorporate advanced features into your aircraft like reduced trim sensitivity at speed, auto trim compensation when lowering flaps, intermediate flap settings, wig-wag the landing lights, automatic switching to backup alternator and electrical load-shedding, disabled landing gear on the ground, and alerts when landing & taxi lights fail.

Reduced parts count and complexity. You don't have to buy fuse blocks, diodes, circuit breakers, most switches, over-voltage & under-voltage modules, trim modules, voltage converters, relay decks, indicators, annunciator lights, mechanical engine gauges, key switches, flap controllers, dimmers, or landing gear disable systems. No more complex wiring schematics.

Reduced build time. Wiring is simplified because you run power wires from the VP-200 directly to the electrical devices.

Tool Rental Program
Finally.
Crimp Tool
Hate buying $300 crimpers? You don't have to any more. We offer a very reasonable tool rental program, and currently rent crimping tools for the Power connectors on the Control Unit, but will expand the line to include tools for other types of connectors as well. Send us an email at info@verticalpower.com with tool suggestions.

Wiring Harnesses
Available Soon!

Wiring harness and connector kits are now just starting down the production line, and will start shipping in May.

The wiring harnesses will be available early so that you can begin wiring now, and then "drop in" the system when it is available starting in August.

Wiring harnesses save you time, and each wire is marked every six inches so you'll always know what it's for.
We're working hard on testing, final development, and installations in beta customer aircraft. These newsletters will be sent out ocassionally to keep you updated on our progress and early-customer progress.

If you have friends who might find this newsletter interesting, please feel free to forward it on to them.

Regards,
