What's New in Boulder
Winter In Boulder
Affordable, Accessible and Spirited
Snow Shopping Winter
Winter in Boulder is surprising.   Hotels offer their lowest rates, the average temperature in January is 45 degrees, there isn't much snow in town, and CU is in session giving the town hip, young energy.  The city is compact with an intimate small-town feel and you can walk almost everywhere. The shops, galleries, restaurants and breweries are just outside your door.  When the sun is shining and the weather is warm, you can rent a bike or go for a hike.
Colorado's
Most Affordable Ski Vacation

The Boulder Ski Escape
Eldora Skier Skiers who are looking for a more accessible, easier, and less expensive ski vacation will like the Boulder Ski Escape program Lodging - with lift tickets at Eldora Mountain Resort - starts at $64.50 per person for a one-night stay.  That's less than the price of just a lift ticket at most ski areas!  The rates are good all season, including the holiday weeks and weekends.  Some deals even include breakfast and transportation.

Eldora is 30 minutes from Boulder with 680 acres of terrain and four restaurants.  One of them, The Lookout at Corona Bowl, sits at the top of the mountain with fantastic views of the Rockies.
Snowshoe at Night
Eldora Mountain Resort
Eldora Lodge Always wanted to snowshoe at night but didn't know where the trail was?  Every Wednesday night from Jan 20 - Feb 24 Eldora has a nighttime snowshoe race. The course is lit with illuminated sticks leading you through the meadows and trees.  There are downhill ski races these nights, too.

Discover Boulder on a Movie Tour
Catch & Release
Catch and Release
Remember the movie a few years ago starring Jennifer Garner?  The movie, Catch & Release, takes place in Boulder and Jennifer Garner was here with the movie crew in 2006.  A new self-guided tour takes you to all of the Boulder locations.  Here's an insider's scoop - the movie is set in Boulder because the director's sister lives in town.

It's one of the coolest!
Boulder International Film Festival
Audience and Boulder Theater sign
Named one of the "25 Coolest Film Festivals" in the world by MovieMaker magazine.  The festival  has a lot of new-but-unknown feature films, documentaries, and shorts that have gone on from early screenings at the festival to significant box-office success and Oscar nominations. Nearly 10,000 filmmakers, national media, special guests and film enthusiasts attend.  It happens February 11-14, 2010 in historic downtown Boulder.  This is also the weekend of Downtown Boulder's Winter Sidewalk Sale.

Ice Skating
Another Boulder Bargain
Ice Rink TripAdvisor named Boulder's ice rink  one of the "Top 10 Bargain Ice-Skating Rinks" in the country.  It's located downtown next to restaurants, shops and cafes, just one block off Pearl Street.  Skating lessons and broomball games happen a couple days a week. The rink is open everyday until February.
