Airport Adding Direct Flight to Washington, DC – The U.S. Department of Transportation
announced last week that it was granting US Airways two
slots to fly from Washington, DC’s Ronald Reagan
National Airport to Akron-Canton Airport allowing for
one daily non-stop roundtrip.

Canton Receives $5 Million Grant for Hoover Project – The Ohio Department of Development
announced that the City of North Canton will receive
a $5 million Job Ready Sites grant to help turn the former
Hoover Company complex into a mixed-use facility. $2
million will go toward widening and improving streets
around the complex and $3 million will be used by the
developer Stuart Lichter to improve the exterior of the
former office and factory building as well as upgrade
the parking lot on the south side, which includes elevated
walkways over Maple Street.
