We are only $144,000 away from being able to build our Co-op store... BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP - NOW!
Just over 80 Co-op members have pledged a total of $306,000 to our member loan program. We must raise $144,000 more to reach the $450,000 member loan requirement necessary to collect a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant.
Our local banks have already promised funding for the project, whose total cost is $4.67 million. Regional development lenders will also provide financing. Our contractor, Dan Hebert, has promised to hold his price until the end of the month so that we can raise the required loan funding.
We have 97% of the necessary funding to build and open our regional food cooperative store... but we can't do it without a little more help from you, our members!
The minimum loan amount is $1,000, with loans up to $10,000 earning 4% interest and those $10,000 or higher earning 5% interest. Interest is accrued annually and will be paid in three installments beginning in April of 2012.
