A preliminary look
New Littleton Coop Store Sketch
After several months of organizing, research and planning, a vision of how the Littleton Food Co-op store might look is materializing. This is a preliminary sketch of our store, which we plan to open by the end of this year. The preliminary design has been drafted by our Facilities Committee and Bast & Rood Architects. More images and a site plan will be included on our website (www.littletoncoop.org) soon.

Committee members and architects are using the results of the detailed member survey conducted earlier this year to design a store that represents what members most want to see in our Co-op. The complete survey results are now available on our website.
Board welcomes two new members
The Board of Directors of Littleton Consumer Cooperative Society, Inc. is thrilled to welcome Mike Norman and Alan Hall to the board.

Mike is vice president and office manager at Horizons Engineering and serves as project manager for several of the company's jobs. He has worked on the expansion of Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, the medical office buildings at Littleton Regional Hospital, and the expansion of Littleton High School.

Most recently, he's been working on the site plan for the Littleton Food Co-op.

Mike also served as a captain in the Vermont Army National Guard from 1989 through 2006. He lives in Littleton.

Alan has worked in the grocery business for 33 years, including 23 of them at Kelley's Foodtown in Franconia, where he was general manager, then owner, of the store until he sold it in 2006 to Mac's Markets. He has also served on the Hannaford Brothers Independent Advisory Committee, the Associated Grocers Retail Advisory Council, and the Associated Grocers Produce Advisory Council.

In his semi-retirement, Alan is keeping busy by working at Shaw's in Littleton. The board welcomes his energy and expertise in the grocery field. Alan also lives in Littleton.
Member loans now being accepted
For those of you who have been waiting for the chance to make a member loan to the Co-op, the time has come. Member Loan Chairperson Jody Wood and his team have put together a comprehensive loan package that will be mailed to all members. Information on member loans should also be available soon on our updated website.

Member loans will play an integral part to the Co-op's financing package, as well as demonstrate strong community support to larger lenders. We've set a goal of $500,000 to be raised through member loans, which are commonly used as part of the start-up costs for food cooperatives.

Thanks to a few very dedicated Co-op members, we've already secured $50,000 through our member loan program. For more information please call Jody Wood at 603-728-8203 or Mike Claflin at 603-444-5333.
