The last few weeks have flown since the announcement of the store location.  Hope you are pleased and proud when you drive by the new sign announcing the future home of the Littleton Co-op food store.

FIRST ANNUAL MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

It might have been cold and snowy outside, but an energetic and attentive audience filled the Elks hall for the first annual meeting on November 16.    Led by Board Members Jeff Wheeler and Mike Claflin, the next two hours passed quickly.  By-Laws were approved, a general discussion of the site followed, with a number of questions and a great deal of input from the members and the public.   A brief time was spent on the upcoming development of a membership gift and loan packet.

Don Kreis, President of the Hanover Co-op Board, and Terry Appleby, General Manager of the Hanover Co-op, spoke to the audience of their support and enthusiasm for the Littleton project.  They spoke of the history of co-ops in the United States, and of the basic co-op principle of supporting other cooperative ventures.   Both reiterated that Hanover will continue to give all the help, review and training they can to ensure the success of the Littleton store.

Stock certificates were made available to those present who had already joined as members.

The meeting concluded with a call for people to sign up as new members or to volunteer their time on a committee.

We're happy to report the membership sign up table was very busy!
