While the site analysis continues, much has been accomplished in several areas:
Finance - A comprehensive business plan has been generated and is pending final review by the Board. The board is grateful to The Hanover Co-Op, the Associated Grocers of New England, The National Cooperative Bank and the New England Cooperative Fund for their help on information essential for the creation of the plan and the time they have taken in the review of the financial components.
The Board is in the initial stages of a discussion regarding grant funding that may be available through the Grafton County Economic Development Council.
Timeline - An initial timeline has been created. While subject to many updates and revisions, the Board feels that the store can be open by the end of November or early December 2008 if the community pulls together the financial resources to make it happen.
Volunteer Staffing - The Board will be reaching out to community volunteers in an effort to build a team capable and ready for the marketing and fundraising activities that would commence once site selection is complete.
Hanover Co-op - The Hanover Board and General Manager, Terry Appleby, have been extremely generous with their time and expertise. We continue our efforts to develop the details of a formal relationship with them.
