Nevada Cancer Institute
The sun rises on the newly completed Nevada Cancer Institute Administration Building and parking garage located on the "Discovery Campus" near the corner of Town Center Drive and the I-215 Beltway. This new three story, 101,365 square foot facility, designed and built by the Korte Company, will add much-needed administrative office space to the cancer research laboratory. The three stories, 500 space, parking structure was designed and built to specifications imposed by the Summerlin HOA standards to disguise the parking element of the structure. The energy efficiencies and other "Green Building" aspects of this project are expected to earn a "Certified" level of certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC). NBD is part of a design/build team to develop the project site by providing horizontal control, grading plans, on-site utility plans, off-site improvement plans, easement preparation, details, water network analysis, drainage study, and traffic study. |
Green Tip
Eco Friendly
Insulaton
Dark roof tiles and summer heat aren't a really good combination; so instead of running the air conditioner for many hours a day, invest in earth friendly roof insulation made from recycled cellulose fiber. It is a great investment, not only keeping you cooler during summer, but warmer during winter and increasing the value of your house. |

A few months ago, I walked into my office to find a Post-ItŪ note stuck to my computer screen. Written on the Post-ItŪ were three words: "Partners for Success!"
The Post-ItŪ was from Michael O. Pullen (he along with partner Kent Anderson own Nevada By Design), and I knew this because the Post-ItŪ was orange in color. You see, Michael has laid claim to all of the orange colored Post-ItŪ notes in the office, not because he likes the color orange, in fact he claims to dislike the color, but for the fact that orange stands out and recipients' know they had better pay attention when an orange note arrives at your desk. Also, Michael has very neat penmanship. Since receiving the note I have kept it next to my computer where I can see it when I work and over the past couple of months have pondered that simple statement. What is Success? How do you measure Success? Who are these "Partners"? The more I stared at this orange Post-ItŪ the more intrigued I became with its deeper meaning. So I sat down with both Michael and Kent to find the answer. The result of that conversation, for me, gave historical insight into both Michael's and Kent's perspective on business and the Values they established eleven years ago when the company was formed. "Partners for Success" is not just about money, performance, self satisfaction, or even the number of completed jobs. "Partners for Success" is about all of the above combined and more. "Partners for Success is about caring as much about the Clients project as the Client.
