Mark your calendars for the upcoming Region 6 CIP Workgroup's Cyber Security Seminar and Tabletop!
The objective of this workshop is to educate regional an private sector leaders both within and outside of the information technology (IT) field on the growing and changing cyber security threats to our critical infrastructure. Consul General Denis Stevens It will inform stakeholders on the need for cuber plans and the inter-dependencies of our regional critical infrastructures and their dependence on IT. Regional public and private sector CIP and IT professionals in the region will gather the following day for a tabletop exercise to explore cyber plans and their impacts and make recommendations for improvement.

 
 Workshop and Tabletop Objectives
  • Raise awareness of inter-dependencies in coordinating public/private response to a cyber based attack;
  • Understand the need for a cyber response plan and allow organizations to evaluate existing plans and preparedness;
  • Evaluate communications between public and private organizations in a crisis;Consul General Denis Stevens
  • Understand impact, both regionally and for separate organizations, of a loss of cyber infrastructure;
  • Increase preparedness to protect the health and safety of employees and the public;
  • Identify improvements to existing cyber response plans, the resultant needs (resources, planning, policy, etc.), and response thresholds;
  • Meet organizations' specific regulatory requirements for cyber response planning and exercise
