PNWER was pleased with the recent release of the Beyond the Border--Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness, and Regulatory Cooperation Council Action Plans, which were released during a joint meeting by President Obama and Prime Minister Stephen Harper on December 7th in Washington DC.

We were very happy to see many of our stakeholder recommendations included in the Action Plans.  We are hoping that several initiatives will now be able to move forward in our region, as a result of the Action Plan.  Your input and participation is crucial in this process.  

PNWER is compiling stakeholder comments to submit to the US Department of Homeland Security regarding the Action Plan. If you have comments that you would like to include in PNWER's submission, please sent them to beyondtheborder@pnwer.org before January 7, 2012.  The deadline for all comments to be submitted to DHS is Jan. 9, 2012.
