Join the regional PUC and Energy Chairs to discuss meeting our future energy needs in the Northwest
Moderator: Jeff Morris, Director, PNWER's Energy Horizon Program, and
David Danner, Executive Director, Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission Join in this important discussion with the PUC and Legislative Energy Chairs as they address the question of how state and provincial regulatory agencies coordinate regionally to address the challenges of the regional grid system, including: - cost of integration, balancing, firming, and capacity of renewables;
- how they make their decisions within the context of other regulatory decisions made throughout the region; and,
- obstacles they are concerned about or suggestions for new legislative solutions

The meeting will begin the afternoon of November 17 with a Transportation meeting at 2pm. The opening reception will be held that evening at 6pm.
The meeting will conclude with an executive board meeting, open to all participants, from 1-4pm on November 19.
Preliminary agenda topics include:
- Rail infrastructure development for high speed bi-national rail corridor from Vancouver, BC to Eugene, OR and governance structures to enhance our competitive position for additional funding
- Developing smart transportation/energy corridors
- Mapping the region's innovation infrastructure clusters
- Joint meeting with regional state and provincial regulatory utility commissions and energy policymakers to address greater regional efficiency for the regional grid system on the cost of integration, balancing, firming and capacity of renewables
