We hope that you and/or your colleagues will be be able to join us for the Arctic Caucus Leadership Forum December 1-3. Due to the logistics of the meeting in Barrow, we have a limited number of spaces available, so please register as soon as possible.
This is a reminder to book your flight and hotel early for the 2010 Arctic Caucus in Barrow, Alaska. This event is taking place December 1st-3rd, and the flights are filling up fast. The flights that we have recommended are outbound December 1st Alaska Flight 51 from Anchorage to Barrow, which departs at 4:30 PM and arrives at 7:35 PM. The return flight we have recommended is Alaska Flight 55 from Barrow to Anchorage, which departs at 11:11 AM and arrives at 1:02 PM. We have set aside several rooms located in hotels in Barrow for the Arctic Caucus at Top of the World (907-852-3900), King Eider Inn (907-852-4700) and Airport Inn (907-852-2525). The North Slope Borough has committed to providing transportation to and from the airport, hotels, and Inupiat heritage center.
We will be exploring several issues and concerns that are unique within the Arctic region including but not limited to the Canadian Federal policy, the US Federal policy, and an Arctic Infrastructure panel which will focus on transportation, communication, and energy. We will also take time to hear from member perspectives in the Northwest Territories, Yukon Territory, the state of Alaska, and other PNWER jurisdictions.
