Illegal 
We are thrilled to have been awarded the Jury Prize for Screenplay. It is the first prize in this category for our production, which makes us particularly proud of the achievement.
The idea for the narrative of "Illegal" came from news stories in the UK. I wrote down the story quite literally on the back of an envelope in one afternoon.

MAY I ENTER by KOSTANA BANOVIC
May I EnterMay I Enter is a creative documentary about Candomble, an Afro-Brazilian religion.
For this film I travelled to an island off the coast of Bahia (Brazil) where I became acquainted with the local Candomble community. Intrigued by the spirit possession ceremonies of the island, I was eager to learn more. The project took two years.
Throughout my oeuvre, drawings, performances, movies, I never hesitated to engage in rituals as a means to reduce the distance between Self and the Other, represented by the cultures encountered during

8° Malcine International Short Film Festival
 
The Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Malcine (Malcine International Short Film Festival) will take place on October 15th-17th 2010.
The Festival is organized by Roxana Ukmar, in cooperation with the town of Maldonado, Uruguay.
The short films must be up to 30 minutes long, and they can be entered for the following categories: fiction, documentary, experimental, animation and music video. The inscription is free.
