On behalf of RICK PALIDWOR, the recipient, please allow me to thank the Jury for the EDITING AWARD at the CHICAGO SHORT FILM FESTIVAL. It is an honor. The editing choices on CARDED were challenging throughout the process, no question. It's not easy to cut between characters when they're not speaking, and CARDED is a silent B&W comedy.

I am very honored and pleased to receive the award for "Integral Realization" from the Golden Gate Fiction & Documentary Film Festival. When I first read "Hot Afternoons Have Been in Montana" by Eli Siegel, founder of Aesthetic Realism, it moved me tremendously. I felt it was like being taken on an exciting and meaningful odyssey around the world, and the world itself seemed to make sense! The poet shows how a hot afternoon in Montana is related to the whole world, and he makes the past, the feelings of people, alive!

Congratulations to Andreas Tibblin, director of WHEN ELVIS CAME TO VISIT, winner of the Special Prize to the Best Short Film in the 2007 SHORT FILM FESTIVAL OF LOS ANGELES.

Sincerely,

Director
Carlos Martinez
