Actress Performance: Victoria Erulin. She has been a precious friend and a loyal partner in crime for many years now. Besides partaking together in various short films and plays we learned a lot from one another during acting workshops. She taught me a thing or two about acting and directing actors. It was only fair that she should have a part in my next short film.

I got the good news that my film Final Curtain Call was awarded for the Screenplay, Le Scénario, at the Festival du Cinéma de Bruxelles in 2006. It is an honour for all involved in the creating process of making this film. My film is a tribute to the actors and artists that dedicate their lives to the art of performing. I had the privilege to follow some actors within my family and was always amazed of their compassion, discipline and dedication of the complex and wonderful art of acting.

The Festival de Cannes now welcomes over 30,000 accreditees spanning the entire spectrum of the film industry, as well as some 4000 international journalists, making it the biggest and most widely acclaimed film festival in the world.

During the first week of this 60º we have contact a lot of talents working with their films. It is the case of Tatyana Zbirovskaya with her smart short film A Man Of Honor. We can also recommend just released films like My Brother Is An Only Child by Daniele Luchetti from Italy, in the Un Certain Regard competition.

It is an honor for me to be invited in this 60º anniversary of the Festival de Cannes. Not only the big industry is present here. Our program is developing very important agreements for the independent cinema.

Sincerely,

Director
Carlos Martinez
