For the last few years I have explored themes which have a spiritual story to tell. As a race, we turn to God whenever we are in a crisis. We pray, we plead, we cry and promise that we will mend our ways and be better human beings. I find that fascinating.

It is a great honor for me to receive this award together with my Director of Photography Michael Alba. I just love it when the story plays in another country, in another language, and is accepted. This proves to me our commonality. The arts reveal what we all have in common as opposed to politics which reveal only our separations. Now most of my professional life I have been involved in the theatre as an actor, then as playwright, then as director and producer.

The Annual Program Without Frontiers granted again the Best Short Film Award in the Inner View section of the Festival. The winner was Peoncito, by Fermin Valeros, an emotive animated short film with a high quality realization.

Our Annual International Screening, which is open to the public and press media, has reached a great success during the Festival, with full theatre every time and press recommendation from major media like TELAM, ANSA and CNN.

Crossing, wich is an amazing short film by Riad Galayini, has been awarded with the Special Prize to the Best Fiction Film in the New York Short Film Festival.
Congratulations!

Sincerely,

Director
Carlos Martinez
