My film Tysta rop (Hidden despair) is about missing fatherhood and what consequences that might have for sons. The film was first a theatre play. We minimized the dialogue and made a short film that managed to catch the essentials of the story by letting the pictures take over the play.

A special selection of best shorts from every Film Festivals included in the Annual Program Without Frontiers will be screened at the 2007 edition. The Mar del Plata International Film Festival is not only a FIAPF "A class" festival, created in 1954. With more than 120.000 attendants, it is one of the largest and more important Film Festivals all over the world. Our Program will grant again the Best Short and Best Short Film Direction Awards.

"Genies" was a tremendous team work. It was a four day shoot and we were putting approximately sixteen hours a day.

The previous edition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.
During 2006 Awards, the Jury has recommended to the direction of the Program a special coverage for some films; one of them is Fragments of Memory, a documentary directed by Diego Ricciardi. The 20th of July, 1976, on the villages of Calilegua and Libertador Gral. San Martín, in the north of Argentine, after a general black out, a massive kidnapping of about two hundred people was undertaken by the Provincial Police, the Army and the Border Police. A woman who survived this night tells us about the real perpetrators.

Sincerely,

Director
