Natasha's Winter Season News "The Season" to Celebrate!
|
|
Hello everyone- I hope this email finds you in good spirits. Mine have vastly improved recently. It might have something to do with the sun!
Summer is Here and I've been out cycling, walking+running on the beach and enjoying what I call Paradise-the Bay Area!
I'm so sorry for those back home in Iowa who have had to deal with the floods. I remember when it happened in '93. Not fun!

I haven't had a photo shoot lately, so all I can offer are self-portraits from my new MacBook Air Photobooth application, and live shots from recent events.
You get to see the "real" me-sans hair, makeup, professional photographer, and Photoshop (airbrushing)!
(my nose isn't really that big in real life, is it?)

Oakland A's vs. the Boston Red Sox
|
|
 |
I sang the National Anthem at the Oakland A's vs. The Boston Red Sox. During sound check my in-ear monitors weren't working (and with a 30 second delay, that would have been VERY difficult to manage) but all ended well during the performance.

Natasha on Billboards?
|
|
|
Not exactly David Beckham/Armani on the front of San Francisco Macy's (not appropriate for all ages!)
but...
An advertising campaign was launched in May to spotlight Poignant Records and the music of Bobby Sharp.

Name a location of one of the billboards (in Oakland) and win a copy of Bobby Sharp-The Fantasy Sessions!

I've been leisurely recording a new CD to be released in March 2009. Everyone has asked me to do a jazz standards CD, and so I decided to "give 'em what they want".
But not like they think... I've enlisted the brilliant, young, pretty cute, and talented Adam Theis of the wildly popular Jazz Mafia in San Francisco to conjure up funky, cool, unusual arrangements of my favorite standards. The working title of the new release is SpinVintage.
Want a sneak peek/listen? Email me and I'll send you a private link if you promise to:
- Keep it to yourself
- Don't sell it on Ebay
- Remember it's not completely mixed and mastered yet.
You'll be in on the "making of my next CD". Cool, I know.
