Monterey Jazz Festival Performance Captivates the Eastwoods
I had the honor and privilege to be invited by Tim Jackson
to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival's kick-off
event last
Thursday night. There were many jazz greats in attendance
including vocalist Kurt Elling and vibraphonist
Bobby
Hutcherson. Hosting the
evening's festivities was the beautiful and spunky Dina
Eastwood, (I loved that woman's spirit!) who was
accompanied by her very achieved and humble husband
Clint
Eastwood.
I performed an hour and a half set with one of the world's most famous and accomplished actor/writer/producer/ director/pianist-golfer-celebrities in the world looking right at me (and maybe the band too, I guess). I questioned my giddiness and pride for having had this opportunity. I realized that even though Mr. Eastwood is a mere human being like each one of us, and of course has an untouchable celebrity status, he intrigues me because of his unparalleled belief and energy to achieve his dreams. Nothing stops this man, and that is a lesson to be learned. Besides, he's a nice guy. Truly! |

Raises over $55,000 for the Young Man Brutally Attacked
This fundraising effort for Cole Cloren has truly been one of the
most
wonderful experiences in my life. He's such a great guy and is
getting the chance to recover from the tragedy he endured.

Natasha Joins the Berkeley Jazz School Staff
I taught two workshops this summer at the Jazz School. They
were wonderful, and fun for me and very successful! I'll be
conducting the workshops again in the Winter term, as well I'll
be teaching a 10 week course that will entail creating a press
kit for each student.

Yoshi's and the Jazz School
I'm working on a new project/new material with my incredible
band. I'm writing songs, arranging others, trying different
instrumentation. I'm excited and will be working through this
fall/winter to bring something wonderful to your ears/lives with
the coming of the new year.

We have submitted the CD Don't Move to be
considered for a
nomination for a Grammy Award in the category of
Best Vocal
Jazz Album. The Grammy Awards are next February. Cross
your fingers, wish us luck.

I have a few dates available in December, so if you or your
company is hosting a holiday event, I'd love to perform for
you.
I can bring my full band, or break down to a smaller ensemble
that is appropriate for your space, audience and budget.
I also own a music production company called Entire Productions. We have the very best talent in many genres including classical, jazz, blues, zydeco, gospel, as well as walk- around talent (including Father Christmas, Elves, Clowns, etc.)
